As a Human Resources (HR) Generalist II at Cleveland Clinic’s Independence Family Health Center, you will serve as first point of contact for leaders and caregivers, while supporting the Director HR Services in supporting human resource strategies and workforce needs for the Institute/Division/Hospital. In this role, you will provide counsel and direction to management in all aspects of human resources functions for assigned clients as well as provide support in the areas of caregiver relations, compensation, performance management and development, team effectiveness and caregiver engagement.
This position’s primary location is based at Cleveland Clinic’s Independence Family Health Center, but you must be flexible to travel to Main Campus (with occasional travel to other regional sites) if needed.
A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and must be flexible to travel if needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Act as a confidential advisor on performance management, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and investigations.
Support the HR strategic plan and established Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) for the assigned areas.
Provide counseling to client groups, facilitate conflict resolution, implement corrective actions and address attendance issues to promote team reliability and overall performance.
Proactively coach, advise and train leaders on HR policies and programs, encompassing all aspects of Human Resource Management, to all levels of caregivers
Conduct investigations and make recommendations to business leaders and facilitate the Right of Review process.
Build and maintain relationships with the various human resources center of excellence (COE) partners and ensure communication of programs and their implementation to all employees.
Navigate and pull reports from various systems such as Kronos, HRIS (Workday), My Learning, etc.
Analyze HR and business metrics and provide recommendations to the HR Director and leadership.
Support regulatory practices to promote fair and equitable treatment of caregivers.
Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
Determine development needs of specific segments of the organization and provide developmental training.
Provide support in workforce planning to include partnering with talent acquisition and compensation to review requests such as promotions, equity reviews and job reclassifications and providing recommendations to leadership.
Support the process for all regulatory/accreditation surveys such as Joint Commission, CMS and ODH.
Pull reports and monitor compliance with organizational initiatives. (e.g., compliance modules, flu, engagement, etc.)
Drive accountability in day-to-day HR operations while supporting a high-caliber provider population with polished professionalism and responsiveness.
Participate in organizational leadership councils and committees as appropriate.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
Five years of progressive HR experience OR an associate degree and an additional two years of related experience, including project management experience OR A High School Diploma/GED and an additional four years of related experience, including project management experience
Knowledge of employment and labor laws (EEO, FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, NLRA, etc.)
Strong critical thinking, relationship building, closed-loop communication, group facilitation and presentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Experience supporting larger-scale populations
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) Certifications
