HR Assistant, Payroll & Benefits

Description

 Payroll Support

  • Assist in collecting and verifying timekeeping data for payroll processing.
  • Maintain payroll records, including wage adjustments, deductions, and PTO.
  • Support payroll audits and assist in preparing reports for leadership or compliance.
  • Help distribute payroll-related communications and respond to employee inquiries.

Benefits Administration Support

  • Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, terminations, and annual open enrollment.
  • Support the communication of benefits information to employees and track participation.
  • Maintain benefits files and ensure documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Help prepare required benefits reports (e.g., ACA, COBRA notices, and 401(k) updates).

HRIS & Records Management

  • Update and maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS system.
  • Support data entry related to payroll, compensation, and benefits changes.
    Ensure employee records are complete, confidential, and compliant with regulations.

General Administrative Support

  • Assist the Talent & Total Rewards Manager with departmental projects and reporting.
  • Coordinate scheduling and materials for payroll or benefits-related meetings or training.
  • Respond to basic employee questions and help guide them through payroll/benefits processes.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or Business.
  • 1–2 years of HR, payroll, or administrative support experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and benefit plan administration.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and basic HR software tools.

Strong customer service mindset and willingness to assist employees and team members.
