About GridUnity:
At GridUnity, we are at the forefront of transforming the nation’s energy landscape. Our innovative team is dedicated to solving complex interconnection challenges, delivering precise, high-quality solutions that empower large transmission companies, RTOs, ISOs, and utilities. We foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and strategic innovation, positioning ourselves as a pivotal player in addressing today’s energy challenges.
Our vision is to: Energize the planet with a faster, smarter and more sustainable grid, and our mission is to: Unite all grid interconnection stakeholders on a single platform that converts centralized data into actionable intelligence and accelerates the transition to a reliable, sustainable, and cost-efficient electric grid.
Our advanced platform combines machine learning, configurable business processes, and cloud computing to deliver a suite of SaaS-based products and services with the flexibility to evolve with the world’s changing energy market. The GridUnity platform has been rolled out across North America by entities providing energy to 70% of Americans, and we are accelerating our growth.
We are hiring a consultant for a 3-month contract to support our Product team and lead a high-impact project at the core of our company strategy. As subject-matter-experts on interconnection, we are deconstructing the interconnection business process through a data-driven lens to find opportunities to accelerate reliable energy deployment wherever we can. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of clean energy, product development, and data strategy—helping shape how utilities and developers connect new energy resources to the grid. If you're excited about process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and real-world impact, we’d love to hear from you.
As part of the Product team, you’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across engineering, sales, customer success, and operations to document and consider risks and opportunities within process steps, clarify inputs and outputs at each stage, and help identify areas where systems and collaboration could be improved.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Interact with and teach an AI instance about interconnection and planning, in turn leveraging that AI to produce the process mapping work described here.
Analyze data flows across process steps—documenting what data is required, generated, or transformed at each stage and identifying gaps, redundancies, or inconsistencies in current data handling practices.
Conduct interviews and workshops with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, to understand business and customer needs and pain points and help refine product strategy..
Assist in defining potential improvements or future-state workflows that support better data visibility, process efficiency and decision making.
Deliver clear process documentation (e.g., flowcharts, data diagrams) and support creation of presentations with actionable recommendations.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently having completed a Master’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Product Management, or a related field, with applied knowledge of the U.S. electrical grid ecosystem.
Strong interest in business process analysis, data modeling, and/or digital transformation of energy.
Hungry for surfacing details and insights, and also possesses excellent communication and collaboration skills—comfortable talking to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with tools like Excel, Whimsical, Draw.io, or similar. Experience with business intelligence or workflow software (e.g., Power BI, JIRA, Tableau) is a plus. Facility with use of AI tools like ChatGPT to process information but committed to careful verification and improvement of results.
Organized, curious, and eager to dig into complex systems and ambiguous problems.
What You’ll Gain:
A deep understanding of cross-functional processes in a high-impact, technical domain.
Experience in product management fundamentals, including discovery, documentation, and stakeholder alignment.
Mentorship and exposure to c-suite level strategy and experience applying AI to real-world issues.
