Description
PURPOSE: This position uses different computer software's and spreadsheet programs to perform day to day accounting and bookkeeping functions, data entry, reconciliations, and other assigned duties to assist the Accounting Staff of Crossroads in all its back-office accounting and administrative functions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s degree in accounting/finance/business or related field with two years’ experience in an office environment, or a high school diploma or GED with three years’ experience.
- Knowledge of or experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products and QuickBooks Online experience highly preferred.
TRAVEL: Occasional local travel is possible.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally may need to lift 15-20 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Professional Office Setting
QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a current unencumbered driver’s license and auto insurance. Background checks showing no evidence of founded abuse or criminal activity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Process invoices, print checks and reconcile accounts payable
- Process contractor/subcontractor payments, i.e. Chore contractors
- Prepare and post monthly invoices for Production and Shred customers and other various revenue sources
- Prepare bank deposits, post payments and reconcile accounts receivable
- Reconcile credit card accounts and post the expenses into QuickBooks
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Assist with preparation of financial reports as well as with budgeting and forecasting
- Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve any billing or payment issues
- Assist with payroll processing and other accounting tasks as needed
- Coordinate the supply ordering and purchasing process, taking the request for items to be purchased, finding the best prices and placing the orders for each department that makes a request
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures as well as financials regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and QuickBooks accounting software, Online version preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles
- Willingness to participate in all company and staff training sessions
- Willingness to cross train and learn/backup other functions such as HCBS/Medicaid billing and Payroll
