Business Unit/Role Specific Info

The Global Risk & Compliance Organization (“GRC”) independently oversee the company’s risk-taking and risk management activities, including the comprehensive identification, management, and mitigation of risks within the Company’s risk appetite. GRC ensures the company operates in a safe, sound and fully compliant manner within all applicable regulatory expectations. We create and maintain the overall risk management framework while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

How will you make an impact in this role?

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented colleague to lead our growing Risk Based Performance and Compensation Framework team. This role will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and overseeing robust talent performance and compensation frameworks that are deeply integrated with the bank's risk appetite and aligned with regulatory expectations, including but not limited to the OCC heightened standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial services risk management principles, regulatory requirements, and their application to HR practices to create risk-based approach to performance, rewards, and talent management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and evolution of risk-based performance management systems that effectively differentiate performance, identify and manage risk-taking behaviors
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure the necessary risk outcomes are considered and integrated in HR processes related to compensation supported by robust governance and oversight
  • Develop and implement robust metrics and reporting frameworks to monitor the effectiveness and regulatory compliance of risk-based talent and compensation programs
  • Draft and establish a risk-based talent, performance and compensation management policy for the Company including the appropriate triggers from risk appetite, risk assessment, issues management, regulatory assessment outcomes, etc.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of the risk triggers established to identify breaches and appropriately identify accountable executives for evaluation by the Risk Performance and Incentive Rewards Committee
  • Aggregate key risk outcomes and communicate quarterly results to Executive Committee members
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for the execution and administration of risk-based talent performance and compensation programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in risk management, business administration, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management functions.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks (e.g., risk appetite, risk identification), regulatory landscape, and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a risk management related role at a GSIB or large bank
  • Ability to develop and mentor a team while working in a matrixed organization with direct interaction with senior risk leadership.

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
