Please note that this position is based in either San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

Position Summary:

Join our dynamic team as the Associate Director of Talent Development! In this pivotal role, you'll take the lead in shaping the future of our People and Performance initiatives. Primary Responsibilities:

Talent Development

  • Support the execution, development, and facilitation of new hire orientation
  • Manage the new hire global orientation program in partnership with colleagues from outside the U.S
  • Facilitate innovative and dynamic training sessions for small and large groups of varying levels of seniority
  • Design and develop a variety of development solutions, including instructor-led courses and e-learning modules, often incorporating a blended approach to delivery
  • Ensure alignment between the learning strategy, learning portfolio, and curriculum architecture for process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Review ad-hoc learning activities and requests; make appropriate recommendations and support the design and development of new learning assets as needed
  • Understand business goals and performance needs, develop and execute learning plans aligned to business strategy, and routinely engage with key stakeholders to ensure learning solutions continue to support and positively drive desired outcomes
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive and influence internal learning and development process improvements that impact results
  • Remain current on learning and development-related tools, techniques, strategies, and practices in order to provide relevant, informed consultative insight and learning practices to key stakeholders
  • Promote the use of existing resources, learning technologies, and suppliers to support performance improvement and system adoption
  • Oversee budgets, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions and other related initiatives. Provide recommendations for improvement
  • Establish the architecture, manage, and optimize the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Support employees and leaders with development planning to help employees make the most of learning opportunities
  • Support the performance management philosophy with learning, tools, and resources
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of learning and development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience working within a pharmaceutical sales organization is strongly desired
  • Superior facilitation and consulting skills
  • Must be proficient with word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), and presentations (PowerPoint)
  • Requires prior experience negotiating prices and managing contracts, and the ability to develop strong working relationships with vendors
  • Experience building custom learning solutions using alternative modalities and technology
  • Prior experience with curriculum design, development, delivery, facilitation, and maintenance, as well as delivery of company-wide training programs required
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal/real-time) with the ability to present in a clear and compelling manner and develop trust and influence at all levels
  • Experience with engaging multiple business partners and stakeholders and driving to alignment and action
  • Outstanding organizational/project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Disciplined self-starter; resourceful and able to prioritize (and re-prioritize) in a fast-paced environment with shifting objectives
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing metrics and processes to identify areas for improvement
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience working with and managing the work of external vendors
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as part of a team
  • High level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidential information
  • Certification or prior experience with learning curriculum and resources like DiSC, Emotional Intelligence, Coaching, Crucial Conversation, Gallup Strengths, and Situational Leadership, a plus

Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. 

Salary Range
$147,000$183,400 USD
