Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

About the Role: As a Senior QA Automation Engineer at webAI, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our automated testing infrastructure. You’ll take a proactive role in improving product quality, setting testing standards, and mentoring others on automation best practices. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high confidence in every release of our distributed AI platform.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, takes ownership of quality initiatives, and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges with a test-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test suites for UI, API, and system-level testing

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure test coverage across new and existing features

• Collaborate with engineering teams to define testing strategies, edge cases, and automation goals

• Maintain test infrastructure and monitor execution performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively

• Conduct code reviews and promote best practices for automated testing across the team

• Write clear and comprehensive test documentation including test plans, reports, and QA metrics

• Drive test data management, environment setup, and mocking/stubbing strategies as needed

• Contribute to overall quality initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing automation-based solutions

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

• 5+ years of experience in test automation or software QA, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity

• Expertise in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, C++, JavaScript.

• Deep experience with automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks

• Strong understanding of CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git)

• Proficiency in API testing tools and methodologies (e.g., Postman, REST-assured, Swagger)

• Experience testing cloud-based or distributed systems

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented, analytical approach
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience automating tests for distributed systems, edge computing, or AI/ML workflows

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or other container/orchestration technologies

• Experience with performance, load, or security testing

• Familiarity with GitOps or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles

• Background in startup environments or agile product teams
