Madison serves as the student volunteer center at the University of Virginia and coordinates community partners, student leaders, and volunteers to address the needs of the community as well as the educational and personal growth objectives of students.
Position Description: In conjunction with Student Financial Services the Graduate Fellows program at Madison House is designed to give graduate students hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of a non-profit organization that serves both University students and local community partners. Madison House is located at 170 Ruby Road in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Madison House has four service tracks for volunteer programs; the Health and Medical Services track places volunteers with organizations that support health through direct services or through a public health lens. This includes supporting organizations like UVA-Hospital, Our Lady of Peace retirement community, or Therapeutic Adventures (adaptive sports) as well as supporting the HelpLine program.
Required Qualifications
Compensation and Appointment: This position is a ten-month appointment for the 2025-2026 academic year at an hourly rate of $17.00.
Graduate students are required to receive Federal Work Study Funding to be considered by the hiring manger. Students are asked to work 15 hours per week.
Position begins August 26, 2025 and ends May 8, 2026.
