Overview

 

Seminole Classic Casino pioneered Indian gaming when it opened as the country’s first large stakes bingo hall in 1979, eventually expanding with gaming machines and poker. The landmark casino is now home to over 1,000 state-of-the-art, newest-title slot machines and other local favorites such as Diamond Lottos, Fort Knox, Pirate’s Loot. The gaming leader also offers 24/7 live table game action with games including Blackjack, Baccarat, Spanish 21, Three Card Poker and many more. Seminole Classic Casino also features the Hollywood Hall entertainment pavilion and the Stage Bar, a full-service bar that features live entertainment nightly. Patrons can enjoy the EATstreet dining area with food options such as Soygood, Slice and Mojoe as well as a burger and wing joint named Flying Cow.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Manager of Human Resources, this team member is responsible for facilitation of training and coordinates the administrative aspects of training and development programs and initiatives. Including issuing invitations and scheduling, report preparation and other details relating to event execution.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Design, plan and implement training and recognition programs developed for Classic Casino.
  • Perform all onboarding functions for new hires to Seminole Classic Casino.
  • Develop teaching outlines and instructional methods for individual training, group instruction, demonstrations and workshops.
  • Conduct training sessions for all Hollywood property programs, such as Orientation, Guest Service, Supervisor/Manager Leadership training, etc.
  • Work with various outlets to develop and implement well-rounded department specific onboarding programs.
  • Conduct needs assessment to determine training needs, i.e. focus groups, surveys and Round Table discussions.
  • Secure feedback to measure progress and effectiveness of training.
  • Support Seminole Gaming and Hollywood property training and guest service initiatives. 
  • Develop relationships to serve as a strategic business partner to operational departments.
  • Maintain training records, including scheduling classes and enrolling participants. Update the training calendar and make training room reservations.
  • Develop, send, and manage communications such as notices, invitations and responses for scheduled classes.
  • Extract training data, compile and prepare reports. Manage training tracking through development and maintenance of Excel Spreadsheets.
  • Maintain training materials including inventory, ordering and compilation.
  • Assist in set up, clean up and maintenance of the training room. Ensure proper care, use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Act a liaison to other departments such as banquets, catering and special events for coordination of training related events.
  • Assist in the development and/or delivery of training.
  • Participate in assignments related to training team projects and events.
  • Administer Tuition Reimbursement program.
  • Facilitate Benefits orientation and enrollment process for new hires.
  • Record and manage all employee I-9 documentation.
  • Ensure activities comply with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, legal demands and professional and ethical standards.
  • Comply with all internal policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate managers of concerns and observations.
  • Demonstrate actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion and Dedication.
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to managers and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of training experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm and outgoing personality while projecting a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high volume environment with previous Casino and/or hotel experience preferred.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity, ethics and discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Detailed and organized with exceptional administrative and multi-tasking skills capable of working where numerous interruptions to job tasks may occur.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with various departments, managers, team members and applicants.
  • Ability to travel to other locations for training assignments.
  • Ability to occasionally work nights, weekends, holidays and outside of regular work schedule.
  • Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Basic mathematical skills specific to job responsibilities are required, to include the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, specific to position responsibilities. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software particularly with Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Technically oriented with Infinium and ICIMS experience preferred.

 

Closing:

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.

 

As part of Seminole Gaming’s employment process, final candidates will be required to obtain gaming licensure by completing a background check with Seminole Gaming Compliance and Regulations, prior to an offer being extended. These background checks may include, but are not limited to:
