Associate Director, Brand Content

Carat Content is embedded within the Carat media team at Dentsu, and leverages media spend to ensure brands show up where culture happens—in real time, in the right context, and on the right platforms. We activate through publisher’s studios and creators to bring fresh, authentic voices and build narratives that connect emotionally and culturally with our brand’s key audiences.

Job Description Summary

The Associate Director, Branded Content at Carat Content will work on the Microsoft line of business, owning branded media content strategy, development, implementation, and measurement. This role involves leading and partnering with the Senior Director on all branded content campaign elements, including designing and executing brand content strategies, cultivating new content and partnership opportunities, and managing innovative branded content initiatives for Microsoft 

Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Development

  • Support and contribute to the overall vision and management of branded media content initiatives 
  • Own upstream development of content opportunities based on client objectives and strategies 
  • Respond to business, marketing, brand, and communications objectives with content-based solutions rooted in strategy and aligned with data and insights 
  • Stay updated on current content and technology trends and their impact on client business 

Client & Partner Relationships

  • Foster and maintain client relationships as well as relationships within the media and entertainment industry 
  • Day to day lead and point of contact with internal Carat teams to understand business goals, objectives, product priorities, and messaging 

Project Management

  • Lead the RFP process, including developing partner briefs, evaluating proposals, and presenting recommendations to clients 
  • Lead and maintain program timelines to ensure projects stay on track 
  • Lead creative and production review and approval processes, providing strategic feedback and quality assurance 
  • Spearhead designing and executing activation plans in collaboration with Carat Activation 
  • Own measurement plans for branded content initiatives alongside Carat Analytics counterparts 
  • Ensure team process consistency and creation of best practices
  • Travel to oversee program success and support shoots and activations as necessary 

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • 6-7+ years of experience in media agency, digital publisher, content, experiential marketing, advertising, PR, production services, or related fields 
  • Passion for AI, technology, and entertainment with interest/experience with B2B-focused brands and publishers 
  • Experience designing and producing cross-platform brand partnerships 
  • Strong project management skills, follow-through skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Experience developing strong working relationships with clients, agency, and partner personnel 
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills 
  • Ability to show flexibility, work irregular business hours, and think creatively/quickly 
  • Financial and media plan acumen 
  • Communication & Professionalism
    • Ability to effectively and confidently communicate information in both verbal and written formats 
    • Shows entrepreneurial spirit, leads and encourages new breakthrough ideas, and is team-oriented 
    • Must employ the highest levels of professionalism and articulation 
  • Technical Proficiency
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, all social media platforms, and working knowledge of media plan development/implementation processes 

Additional Information

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $110,400. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
