Tax Accountant
Skills
- Broad knowledge in individual tax preparation with multi-state experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Experience with CCH Axcess or other tax software preferred
- Strong written and oral communication
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Methodical, thorough, and organized approach
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
Responsibilities
- Research, plan and prepare US individual and business income tax returns
- Collect and organize clients' tax documents
- Complete initial input and review of tax information in tax software
- Advise clients on how to minimize tax liability and update them on tax changes
- Support compliance with taxing agency requirements
- Respond to federal and state notices and assist in government audits
- Participate in tax analysis, research projects, and administrative tasks
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance or accounting
- Financial certification (CPA/EA) strongly preferred
