About the Team

The Field Programs team provides strategic, thoughtful, and impactful program management for Workday Sales and Global Field Operations. The work of the team spans across multiple sales priorities such as pipeline creation, deal execution, people development, and more. We are a group of hard-working professionals, with a diverse mix of experience and backgrounds, located across the globe. The team promotes Workday’s core values with a strong dedication to our employees.

About the Role

Workday is looking for a strong leader to join the Field Programs organization. The Principal, Field Programs will be a critical member of the team, helping to craft sales strategy, lead global initiatives to support the growth of the sales organization, and playing an integral role in FY sales planning. This role requires leadership, excellence in both strategy and process, and strength in building productive cross-functional relationships. We value the candidate who is analytical, effectively runs large complex projects through from development to execution, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Creativity and original thinking are essential as we will look to this team member to identify innovative approaches for programs and priorities across the business.

About You

Basic Qualifications

P5 Program Manager

  • 12+ years of work experience in consulting, internal strategy, program management, or sales operations.

  • 5+ years of working in partnership with Sales organizations

  • 3+ years of experience working on Fiscal Year transitions

P6 Program Manager

  • 12+ years of work experience in consulting, internal strategy, program management, or sales operations.

  • 5+ years of working in partnership with Sales organizations

  • 3+ years of experience working on Fiscal Year transitions

Other Qualifications

  • Exhibitor of operational excellence and the ability to drive process improvements

  • Strong executive internal/external executive presence

  • Experience developing programs to achieve business outcomes and develop successful teams.

  • Experience with data analysis to inform and drive strategic business decisions.

  • Able to present complex business decisions in a structured format.

  • Able to effectively communicate with senior leaders on decisions that impact their teams.

  • Consultative approach and strong communication skills to engage with key partners at senior executive levels.

  • Able to nurture collaboration and facilitate discussions among cross-functional teams to drive progress on a variety of projects and programs.

  • Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration, establish credibility, be decisive and articulate issues clearly and concisely.

  • High emotional intelligence and ability to bring point of view forward in a nuanced way to influence.

  • Practical, hands-on approach and a “make it happen” demeanor.

  • Adaptable and able to shift gears comfortably as business needs evolve.

  • Proven understanding of sales strategy and operations.

  • Able to learn in a face-paced environment.

  • An enthusiastic teammate with a positive mentality.

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field OR relevant equivalent experience


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location: USA.IL.Chicago

Primary Location Base Pay Range: $153,100 USD - $229,500 USD

Additional CAN Location(s) Base Pay Range: $137,600 - $206,400 CAD
