Job Details:

Purpose

The Clinical Research Associate II position will assist Dr. Freeman (Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center) to conduct funded clinical research studies. This position involves a significant amount of patient-facing time for study participant recruitment and conduction of research visits. This position also involves administrative tasks, working with the PI, department, sponsors, and institution to support the compliance, financial, personnel and other related aspects of the clinical studies. This position is fully on-site and has a fixed term end date of one year from start date.

Responsibilities

  • Assist PIs to develop study protocols and procedure manuals

  • Assist with institutional review board (IRB) applications, submissions, and updates across multiple sites

  • Ensure completion of contract requirements and project specifications

  • Scheduling patients and staff for research visits and meetings

  • Recruit potential research subjects, complete screening and informed consent processes and data collection procedures

  • Track recruitment at study site and adherence to procedures/protocols to ensure optimal subject participation rates and accurate data collection and reporting.

  • Develop and maintain timelines in coordination with defined protocols

  • Complete assigned projects with an emphasis on coordination and communication with research sponsors, investigators and research team members

  • Assist in training project staff and research assistants who may be helping with data collection and data entry

  • Help to facilitate project collaborations and team work

  • Other related functions as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, psychology, or related field and 2 years of associated research experience or Master’s degree and no experience

  • ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable and professional manner on the phone and in person

  • Demonstrated use of good written and verbal communication skills

  • Possess effective project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines

  • Possess great attention to detail and effective follow-through

  • Shows initiative to complete tasks before being asked and be able to independently manage studies, as well as have ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various delicate, formal or urgent situations

  • Flexible and adaptable to change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with research subject recruitment and data management in clinical health research.

  • Experience with adults with physical or cognitive disability.

  • Spanish speaker

Salary Range

$45,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
