Summary of Job Duties:

The fellow will be involved in leading a 2-year $500,000 grant funded by the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office. Responsibilities will include training and facilitating weekly meetings with youth researchers from Arkansas middle and high EAST (Education Accelerated by Science and Technology) programs, mentoring PhD, MPH, and undergraduate students from data science and public health, conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and other research activities. The project will include working with a team that includes youth researchers, faculty, and students from data science (to train AI-models to classify social media data), education, and public health.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in social/behavioral sciences, public health, psychology, or other relevant areas conferred by the start of employment

  • Excellent writing and public speaking skills required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with tobacco and/or social media analysis, youth populations, and/or health disparities/equity research

$65,000 per year + $2,500 annual travel and training fund
