Summary of Job Duties:

The Director of Admissions for the School of Law will be responsible for acknowledging the submission of applications and receipt of other related documents and fees, reviewing files for missing material, data entry of prospective student information, student file maintenance, and preparation of related correspondence. The Director of Admissions in consultation with the Assistant Dean of Admissionsdevelops and implements strategies to meet enrollment goals, analyzes admissions data, trends, and market research to optimize recruitment efforts.

The Director of Admissions must have a willingness to travel to represent the law school at recruitment events, fairs, Pre-Law forums and virtual sessions. Other duties will include assisting in building relationships with Pre-Law advisors, alumni, undergraduate institutions and other stakeholders to attract a qualified applicant pool. The Director of Admissions assists in final decision making or recommendations to the admissions committee; managing admissions data (like LSAC platforms), collaborating with marketing teams to develop effective admissions materials, digital content, and communication strategies targeting prospective students. This role also assists the Assistant Dean of Admissions with organizing on-campus and virtual events, such as admitted student day, open houses, and information sessions to engage prospective students and improve yield.

The Director of Admissions is responsible for upholding ethical standards in admissions practices and exercising transparency, fairness, and integrity. This role provides administrative support for the Office of Admissions, by meeting and greeting walk-in students and visitors, answering phones and directing calls, answering routine questions by phone and email, scheduling appointments and maintaining the office calendar. The Director of Admissions also assists with student scholarship processing, including but not limited to, processing and writing scholarships in Perceptive Content; communicating with the Scholarship Office, Treasurer’s Office, and Development Office regarding student scholarships; and communicating with students regarding student scholarships.

This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Admissions.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

OR

• At least three years of experience in admissions, or relevant work experience

• Driver's license as work travel will be required

Preferred Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited institution of higher education

• At least three years of practice experience and experience in law school admissions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

• Strong organizational, analytical, and writing skills, including the ability to compose and edit correspondence, reports, and other documents

• Strong proficiency in computer operation and software applications including Microsoft Office Suite and student database systems (Unite 2.0 and Workday)

• Sound professional judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and discretion while ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality

• Proficient in performing duties with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to adapt quickly to new situations and to work under pressure with frequent interruptions

• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and other relevant legal contacts and work in a collaborative environment

• Capable of managing a demanding travel schedule and willing to travel extensively. A valid driver’s license is required
