Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education;
Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing graduate students;
Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% - 20 hours per week/PT-25% - 10 hours per week) with regular attendance.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related area;
Preference will be given to graduate students admitted to either the MS in Computer Science or the CIS PhD - Computer Science Track degree programs.
Experience in the design, implementation, and analysis of software systems.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Attending class sessions;
Teaching and assessment of courses and labs for the UA Little Rock Computer Science Department;
Leading a class activity such as a discussion group or demonstration;
Tutoring students;
Working with diverse populations;
Organizing different projects;
Being accessible to students or colleagues through email and scheduled appointments;
Preparing materials as needed as determined by the chair, graduate coordinator, and/or supervisor;
Maintaining records and meet deadlines as required by administration;
Respecting confidentiality of all individuals; comply with FERPA requirements;
Assisting with other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Very good oral and written communication skills;
Ability to work solo and in a team environment;
Ability to understand business processes and workflow;
Ability to answer computer questions in person, through email, and over the phone;
Undergraduate knowledge of the courses in which they serve as a Teaching Assistant.
