This is a Medicare Billing position

  • Start Date:  within next few weeks 
  • Schedule:  Days
  • Shift:  Monday-Friday with Manager on Duty (MOD) scheduled weekend rotation

A little more about our center:

Southview Manor (formerly Southview Care) is a large inner-city skilled nursing (medical) facility.  We have and multiple levels of care, including long term care and a large behavioral health population.  Many of them were previously homeless.

  • We have a 5 Star Quality measure – this means we provide excellent clinical care!
  • The average age of our patients is 35-55+ and the most common diagnoses are schizophrenia, bi-polar and major depressive disorders.
  • The Staff and patients are welcoming and say hello as you walk through the hallways.
  • The Metra and the Green Line are just a few blocks away

Job Description

What you will do in this role:   When you are a patient, finances should be the last thing on your mind.  You will work closely with facility and regional accounts receivables team.  The AR projects will include back-end collections and billing for Public Aide, Medicaid, Medicare and managed care accounts for our skilled nursing facility.  One moment you are managing the patient trust fund, the next you’re setting up payment schedules for a family and the next you could be helping a patient apply for Medicaid.  It’s a busy day here!

  • Officially we title this job a BOM or Business Office Manager, but in other centers it may be called a Medicare / Medicaid Biller or Accounts Receivable Coordinator or even a Financial Services Rep.

Qualifications

Business Office Manager (BOM): is sometimes called an Accounts Receivable (AR) or Billing Specialist or Bookkeeper in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

This is a Medicare Billing position.  The training and orientation for this role will be provided to you by others located in different centers.  You will be working very independently.  Therefore, what we need from you:

  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years’ of bookkeeping or BOM experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) with a specific focus on collections and outstanding receivables
  • Experience with Public Aide/Medicaid billing (MCOs) and collections is a must (please specify detailed experience on resume or cover letter for consideration). 
  • MEDI & Point Click Care (PCC) billing system experience is required
