Summary:
The Landmark Resort is seeking a Controller who will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of financial reporting and accounting operations. The ideal candidate enjoys the variety of the hospitality industry and wants to create a high performing team. The responsibilities include monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

Major Areas of Accountability:
· Lead an ERP optimization initiative in collaboration with a NetSuite consulting team, driving process improvements, system enhancements, and cross-functional alignment.
· Perform month-end closing activities, including various journal entries, variance analysis.
· Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations monthly. Reconcile complex accounts and investigate/resolve variances.
· Review all financial and transaction information relating to business operations.
· Prepare, analyze, and assess accuracy of a variety of financial schedules such as expense analysis, balance sheets, income statements and other related reports.
· Distribute customized financial reports by established monthly deadlines while ensuring for the quality, timeliness, and integrity of data.
· Create documentation of procedures and key internal controls.
· As required, attend and present at Board Meetings and Committee Meetings
· Facilitate the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working closely with the management team
· Assist with annual insurance renewals and bindings.
· Oversee Working Capital, i.e., reserves, to ensure long term planning and capital improvements
· Manage and develop a team of 1-5 employees, including but not limited to accounting staff and night audit team
· Maintain a professional working relationship with all departments
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex industry and related documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquires and complaints. Ability to understand, read, write, and converse in English.
· Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to make decisions requiring the use of multiple variables in complex non-standard situations. Use discretion and independent judgement on matters of significance.
· General ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable and receivable systems with knowledge of other systems and processes, fixed asset accounting, inventory tracking and control, tax accounting, cash management and banking.
· Other duties may be assigned as required.
· Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Requirements
Ideal Candidate Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
· 7 years + in progressively more responsible accounting or finance roles
· Extensive knowledge of Excel and ability to build and update financial models.
· Excitement to transform the department into a high-performing, well-coordinated team through process optimization and strategic leadership.
· Public accounting experience preferred
· MBA, CPA or CMA preferred
· Experience with condominium association accounting preferred
