Senior Accountant - Manufacturing

My client is a leading manufacturing company committed to delivering high-quality products and operational excellence. With a strong presence in the market and a culture of continuous improvement, we are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial decision-making. This role plays a critical part in month-end closings, cost accounting, inventory management, and internal controls within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

Manage and analyze cost accounting processes, including standard costing, variances, and inventory valuation.

Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions across manufacturing and warehousing operations.

Partner with operations to understand production costs and implement cost control initiatives.

Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Support external audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to system enhancements or ERP optimization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, cost accounting principles, and financial reporting.

Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma environments.

Familiarity with inventory control systems and standard costing.

Working knowledge of tax filings and compliance in a manufacturing context.
