Responsibilities
- Represent the City in diverse litigation matters including preparation and filing of legal documents, participation in hearings and trials.
- Provide legal advice on daily operations and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Manage administrative hearings such as Workers’ Compensation and Disciplinary Appeals.
- Prepare and review City policies and recommend legally required changes.
- Coordinate claim investigations, evaluations, settlements and provide legal counsel.
- Collaborate with other departments, agencies and legal counsels; prepare and present reports.
- Adhere to City attendance policies and comply with all personnel regulations.
Education
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- License to practice law from the Supreme Court of Texas at time of hiring
