Responsibilities
- Collaborate with producers, reporters, anchors, digital producers, and photographers to create compelling original news stories.
- Oversee production of newscasts and special programming.
- Lead news team decisions during breaking news and severe weather events.
- Integrate multi-platform content approaches in news gathering.
- Promote core values, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and Race and Culture content.
- Strategize with executive leadership to grow newsroom talent, content, and audience.
- Build relationships with news sources and community stakeholders.
- Manage administrative tasks including staff scheduling and training.
- Provide coaching and feedback to improve overall editorial quality.
- Evaluate and improve newsroom workflows and processes.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field.
- Experience in news leadership roles.
