- Understanding of mechanical materials, processes, and parts used in aviation assemblies.
- Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9000, AS9100, NADCAP.
- Knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), APQP, FAIR, metrology.
- Capability with lean manufacturing principles, process control, root cause analysis, PFMEA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation abilities.
- Experience in fast-paced iterative design environments within relevant industries.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical point of contact and subject matter expert for suppliers and manufacturing risk mitigation.
- Manage outsourced parts through design for manufacturing reviews, PPAP implementation, and supplier ramp-up.
- Collaborate with procurement to source and assess supplier manufacturing capabilities and quality systems.
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives at supplier locations.
- Validate and ensure effectiveness of supplier corrective actions.
- Lead containment activities and coordinate cross-functional resolution efforts.
- Drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction through team collaboration and project leadership.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM discipline required.
- Master's degree in engineering or business discipline preferred.
