Benefits Specialist

Our client, a respected Christian non-profit organization, is seeking a Senior Benefits Consultant to lead the strategic administration and coordination of comprehensive employee benefits programs across the United States and Canada. This role plays a critical part in supporting the organization’s mission by ensuring that benefits offerings are effective, compliant, and aligned with the values of care and stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and management of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, disability, and wellness initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advocate and point of contact for employees regarding benefits questions, concerns, and escalations.
  • Ensure all benefits programs are compliant with applicable U.S. and Canadian laws and regulations.
  • Manage and optimize benefit administration systems, with a preference for Workday HRIS.
  • Oversee annual benefits enrollment and collaborate with vendors, brokers, and internal stakeholders to deliver a seamless experience.
  • Analyze benefits data and provide insights to guide strategic decisions, cost management, and program effectiveness.
  • Prepare and deliver reports using advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and other complex functions.
  • Maintain exceptional documentation and organizational systems to ensure timely and accurate administration.
  • Communicate benefits information clearly and compassionately to staff across multiple locations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in benefits administration, with at least 3 years in a senior or strategic role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-border benefits in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Proficiency in benefit administration systems; Workday HRIS strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formula development.
  • Strong understanding of benefits-related compliance requirements and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • A heart for service and alignment with the Christian values and mission of the organization.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $75,000 - $80,000 yearly

Expected hours: 10- 40 per week
