Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (AS) sector is looking for a Principal/Senior Principal Organization Effectiveness Consultant to join the AS Human Resources Organization Effectiveness (OE) team.  If you are passionate about helping people, teams and organizations reach their maximum potential, we want to talk to you! This position will be onsite in either Melbourne, FL or Palmdale, CA. This position will report to the Senior Director, Organization Effectiveness for AS.

As a member of the OE team, the successful candidate will help lead efforts to assess, develop and deliver outcome-based strategies and solutions in partnership with program managers and executives, as the assigned OE/Talent Advisor to our Aeronautics Systems sector divisions and programs. The successful candidate will collaborate within and across HR; consult across business lines and take a data-driven approach to assessing talent development needs in our divisions and programs. Additionally, they will take an employee-centric approach to developing and adapting effective and impactful solutions; and where appropriate, consult on organization design and organizational culture initiatives, change management approaches and best practices, team effectiveness and operating systems assessments, leadership effectiveness, L&D consultations, and employee coaching engagements. 

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Partner with Division General Managers & Vice Presidents and their HR Business Leaders to identify talent management priorities and goals and measures of success
  • Consult with key stakeholders to assess and analyze both current and future program management (P&L) professional and leadership development skill needs; Assess critical business issues and design organization development and strategic plans to enhance company performance
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and provide design input by applying instructional design methodologies and adult learning theories to sector specific programs and resources; When applicable, work to implement programmatic learning and development activities leveraging all learning methods and programs (i.e. instructor-led classroom, virtual, self-paced eLearning, gamification, etc); Facilitate training where needed
  • Design and implement professional & leadership development training programs to enhance the effectiveness of individual contributors, managers, and teams to increase organization productivity and customer satisfaction
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate data for development related metrics to determine the impact of development initiatives and make appropriate recommendations
  • Facilitate individual and team assessments to identify and create plans to address opportunity areas to improve individual and team performance and effectiveness
  • Engage in executive coaching engagements
  • Advise on organizational design initiatives, including assessing strategy, structure, and processes; partner with senior leaders to implement future-ready solutions that align with strategic business objectives.
  • Leverage solid project management skills to implement development activities to include managing multiple projects simultaneously, mitigating risk, escalating when appropriate and reporting status to key stakeholders
  • Provide input and execute change management plans (including behavior change fundamentals such as mindset shift, dealing with resistance, cultural shift); Partner with communication partners to promote awareness and utilization of resources
  • Create and deliver professional presentations and resources that inform, compel, and drive action across various populations
  • Stay abreast of training and development research, theories, methodologies, and techniques; Demonstrate the ability to apply concepts and theories to develop practical solutions that can be implemented with positive business outcomes

This position may be filled at a principal or senior principal level.

Basic Qualifications (Principal):

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years OR Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience in learning and development, adult learning, training, organization development or HR field in a large, complex professional environment
  • Certified executive coach
  • Superior relationship building and interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities/clients is essential
  • Demonstrated excellence in facilitation, with the ability to lead strategic discussions, workshops, and decision-making session with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning and agility to adapt to shifting priorities and navigating ambiguous situations
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience creating professional and impactful PowerPoint presentations, communications, and resources, for a variety of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years OR Master’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience in learning and development, adult learning, training, organization development or HR field in a large, complex professional environment
  • Certified executive coach
  • Superior relationship building and interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities/clients is essential
  • Demonstrated excellence in facilitation, with the ability to lead strategic discussions, workshops, and decision-making session with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning and agility to adapt to shifting priorities and navigating ambiguous situations
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience creating professional and impactful PowerPoint presentations, communications, and resources, for a variety of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Learning & Development, or related discipline
  • Broad based experiences as an Organization Development professional, designing and delivering professional development and/or leadership curriculums, and working on larger scale OD/OE projects
  • Professional certifications relevant to HR, OD, change management, human capital performance consulting or other relevant fields 
  • Current/active DoD Secret clearance

Melbourne Florida Salary Ranges

Principal: $78,700 - $118, 100 / Senior Principal: $98,100 - $147,100

Palmdale California Salary Ranges

Principal: $91,200 - $136,800 / Senior Principal: $113,500 - $170,300

Salary Range: $78,700.00 - $147,100.00Salary Range 2: $91,200.00 - $170,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
