As a Mental Edge Counseling, LLC (MEC) Client Care Specialist, your key job responsibilities would include:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients, answering phones and addressing inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
  • Coordinate and manage appointments, therapist schedules, and calendar changes with accuracy and efficiency. 
  • Greet clients warmly and check them in for appointments, creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. 
  • Collect, verify, and maintain complete and accurate client information, including insurance documentation and eligibility. 
  • Utilize our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to accurately document, update, and manage client records. 
  • Support therapists with client-related administrative tasks, communication, and scheduling needs. 
  • Actively contribute to a positive, organized, and client-centered office culture. 
  • Attend and participate in monthly team meetings. 
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities. 
  • Promptly address client questions and concerns, collaborating with clinical staff as needed. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership to support smooth practice operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience in medical office administration, behavioral health practice support, or related healthcare administrative roles.
  • Available to work 10:45am-7:15pm (this shift is a requirement).

  • Proven mental health receptionist and administrative experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detailed oriented, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification, client intake processes, and front office coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a calm, empathetic, and professional demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to client confidentiality.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proficient with EMR systems
  • Passion for supporting individuals on their mental health journey. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
