Responsibilities: Create engaging hands-on biology activities, articles, and practice exercises for middle and high school classrooms in collaboration with the content team.
Skills: Proven content development experience in life science or high school biology, strong writing skills, project management proficiency, and a passion for science education are required.
Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of professional content development experience in life science or biology and relevant teaching experience is preferred; experience with multiple educational standards is a plus.
Location: The position can be done remotely within the Continental US and Hawaii with some flexibility.
Compensation: $77600 - $96900 / Annually

THE ROLE
Khan Academy is seeking an experienced and versatile science educator to serve as a Biology Content Creator. This is a fixed-term position with an expected term of 12 months. By offering high quality standards-aligned biology lessons for free, we hope to empower millions of students to take charge of their futures and improve their lives.
As a biology content creator, you will develop high-quality life science/biology learning materials for middle and high school classrooms. These materials will include hands-on activities, articles, and practice exercises. You will leverage your deep content knowledge as a science educator and intuition for student needs to ensure the content you create is engaging, rigorous, accessible, and standards-aligned. You won’t be working in isolation; you’ll be working closely with other members of the content team.
Our team is made up of talented creators who make our videos, articles, practice questions, and hands-on activities. Today, our courses include nearly every math topic from K-14, science and humanities content covering middle school, high school, and early college, test prep for several national exams, and much more! In the years ahead, we want to double down on making our courses great in classrooms and help push online education to the next level.

The rate for this 12-month fixed contract would be the following: $77,600.00 - $96,900.00 USD or $104,862 - $131,077 CAD.
