International SOS is looking for qualified individuals to provide  Family Advocacy Program (FAP) case management services at locations around the world for The Navy Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) which serves active duty members of the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force plus their eligible family members; active duty members of foreign military services who are stationed in the area; reserve military personnel and their family members when they are eligible for military medical care, military members designated as severely wounded, ill and injured and their identified caretakers and, on a space available basis, military retirees and their family members and widows, eligible family members of military decedents and other groups as directed and authorized by higher authorities in response to special circumstances. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide public awareness campaigns and programs in support of National Child Abuse Prevention and National Domestic Violence Awareness Months. 
  • Ensure that family violence prevention and education programs are provided with sufficient frequency to ensure that all of the following groups are trained: Commanding Officers (COs), Executive Officers (XOs), Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Command POCs, senior enlisted personnel, IDC, service members, chaplains, childcare and youth activities staff, installation law enforcement and medical staff.  
  • Ensure that FAP awareness and prevention education briefs and workshops shall include, at a minimum, the dynamics of child and domestic abuse, reporting requirements, the FAP, victim sensitivity and support, and the importance of community coordination.  
  • Ensure that FAP information and referral, and awareness and prevention education services are entered and counted in FFSMIS.  
  • Ensure staff delivering FAP awareness and prevention education services account for all services delivered in the scheduling module in FFSMIS.  
  • All reports of alleged child and domestic abuse shall be received and assessed IAW current Navy risk assessment protocols and procedures, to include interviews of alleged offenders, victims, children, and other witnesses.  
  • Develop appropriate, risk-focused treatment and interventions for victims and perpetrators of child and domestic abuse in accordance with Navy Certification standards.  
  • Prepare information about alleged incidents of child and domestic abuse for the Family Advocacy Representative’s presentation to the Incident Determination Committee (IDC) for status determination.  
  • Prepare incidents for discussion at the CCSM for designation does not meet criteria incidents, treatment planning and recommendations, periodic review and transfer and closure.  
  • Provide regular command consultation.  
  • Refer domestic abuse victims and non-offending parents in child abuse allegations are referred to the FAP Victim Advocate, if available, for ongoing services and support.  
  • Coordinate all case management and intervention services with the assigned FAP Victim Advocate, as applicable, Suspected child and domestic abuse shall be reported to the local civilian authorities and responsible CO, headquarters and law enforcement IAW Navy, federal, state, and SOFA requirements. Implement restricted reporting for incidents of domestic abuse IAW DoD and Navy requirements.  
  • Coordinate intervention services for offenders, victims or other family members referred to FAP.  
  • Participate in site/regional quarterly quality assurance procedures to ensure that all clinical case management and intervention services provided are safe and of good quality.  
  • Document and maintain current records in the FFSMIS FAP Case Record System for all FAP case management and intervention services provided IAW current Navy requirements.  
  • Document and maintain current records in the FFSMIS FAP Restricted Reporting Record System for all clinical services provided to victims of domestic abuse who have elected restricted reporting IAW current Navy requirements.  
  • Ensure all FAP information and referral, and one-on-one consultation not resulting in FAP referral are entered and counted in FFSMIS.  
  • Ensure staff delivering FAP case management and intervention services account for all services delivered in the scheduling module in FFSMIS. 

This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above. 

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge 

  • Educational qualifications include a master’s in social work, Master of Science, Master of Arts, or doctoral-level degree in human service or mental health from an accredited university or college. 
  • The highest licensure in a State or clinical licensure in good standing in a State that authorizes independent clinical practice.  
  • Two years of experience working in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse. 
  • Clinical privileges or credentialing in accordance with Service FAP headquarters policies. 
  • Maintain current clinical credentials and privileges throughout their FFSP assignment. 
  • Must meet or exceed the requirements for Tier II qualified clinical practitioners, as described in SECNAVINST 1754.7A. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365. 
  • Individual should be detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work autonomously. 

Required Work Experience 

  • Minimum experience includes two years post-master’s supervised clinical experience. 
  • Must meet the standards of professional and ethical conduct prescribed by their discipline or licensing board and demonstrate current clinical competence through direct service clinical experience during the 2 years preceding hire. 
  • FAP Case Managers shall possess a broad range of specialized work experience including working with family programs, military or civilian social service agencies, and/or is a military family member with full understanding of the military lifestyle.  
  • Strong oral and written communication, assessment, and advocacy skills are required.  
  • Possess advocacy knowledge, skills, and abilities such as: working knowledge of state, federal, and local resources, as well as understanding, sensitivity, and empathy for sailors and family members from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic background. 
  • Knowledge of the FFSMIS system is desired but not required. 

Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. 

Compensation|   Min: $18hr        Max: $40hr
