ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer with 5+ years of industry experience in software testing, including both manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in REST API testing, data models, backend and UI testing, and a comprehensive understanding of test management tools and test automation frameworks. This role requires hands-on experience with Selenium, XML, database schemas, and load/performance testing tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases and test plans
• Perform thorough backend testing, including validation of database schemas and data integrity
• Test RESTful APIs for functionality, performance, and security
• Conduct UI testing across different browsers and platforms
• Utilize Selenium for automated regression testing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA
• Conduct performance and load testing using appropriate tools
• Work with XML/JSON data formats for integration and validation testing
• Analyze system specifications and develop effective test strategies.
• Perform load and performance testing using appropriate tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Work closely with developers and stakeholders to identify and troubleshoot issues.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong proficiency in REST API testing
• Solid understanding of data models and relational databases
• Experience with backend systems and UI testing
• Hands-on experience with Selenium (Java/Python preferred)
• Familiarity with XML, JSON, and SQL
• Experience with performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
• Proficiency in using test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr)
• Strong experience writing and maintaining test cases
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Proficient with JIRA for issue tracking and project management

Nice to Have:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Git, JIRA, and test management platforms.
• Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms and environments

Education:

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Preferred: Master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
