RESPONSIBILITIES:

The person in this role will be responsible for supporting strategic initiatives across all MegaMex Brands & Categories within the Foodservice & C-Store channels. The brand analyst will be an active participant in providing the cross functional sales & brand teams critical customer and consumer insights, identifying relevant business issues with forward looking action steps, supporting innovation research, customer facing support, and new item presentations.  This position supports businesses with annualized revenues exceeding $250M as well as channels within MegaMex Foods that are expected to expand at elevated levels relative to industry & company growth algorithms. This position will support the Mexican Inspired Foods vertical by developing a deep understanding of category and consumption insights leveraging a variety of syndicated resources like Circana, Mintel, Kantar, Technomic, Shopper Card, distributor data, and internal data.
 

  • The Brand Analyst will collaborate with and build a cross functional network with the National Category Sales Manager (NCSM), Innovation, Consumer Insights, FP&A, and Marketing Managers to provide influence of strategy rooted in category-based perspectives.
  • The Brand analyst will have the ability to work with key C-Store & Food Service customers across the U.S. (National QSRs, USF Foods, Core-Mark, 7-Eleven, EG America, AMPM, KwikTrip, etc.). 
  • This position will work with the Food Service & C-Store corporate Marketing/NCSM teams and MegaMex Food Service & C-Store sales teams on developing insight driven selling presentations to grow the “Food Away from Home” channel at MegaMex, leveraging Infobate and Circana data. 
  • Supports and key contributor to annual brand planning process & monthly line reviews for MegaMex “Food Away from Home” channels.
  • Provides periodic reports to include but not limited to:
    • Performance monitoring i.e. customer performance, market share, sales change, pricing, and distribution gaps.
  • Ad-hoc reporting based on issues discovered in the periodic reports that dig deep into markets and products issues with solid recommendations. 
  • Position will support the Foodservice, International, and C-Store teams with industry trend information & implications leveraging trends from resources like Technomic, NPD, Mintel, Kantar, Datassential.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year of sales/marketing/analytics experience.
  • Pattern of initiative.
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex projects.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organizational skills and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to present to and negotiate with the customer.
  • Proficient in working with IRi data.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.
     

Preferred

  • 2+ years of sales/marketing/analytics experience.
  • Knowledge of C-Store & Foodservice distribution methods / channels.
  • Experience working with Foodservice & C-Store data sources (ex. Distributor Data / Technomic / etc.)

 

LOCATION: Orange, CA

 

A comprehensive relocation package to the Orange, CA area will be offered, if required.

 

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Brand Analyst role is between $77,275 - $108,200 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
