Position Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Civil Engineer (PE preferred) with 3-5 years of experience to join a respected engineering firm in Northbrook, IL. This role offers the opportunity to manage diverse projects from design through construction, working with private and public sector clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage civil engineering projects (grading, utilities, roadways, stormwater)
- Prepare construction documents, permit applications, and agency submittals
- Conduct site visits and construction observation
- Coordinate with clients, agencies (IEPA, MWRD, IDOT, etc.), and project teams
- Prepare stormwater management reports and hydraulic calculations
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- Licensure: Illinois PE license (or EIT with path to PE)
- Experience: 3-5 years in land development, storm water management, and infrastructure design
Technical Skills: - Proficiency in MicroStation/Geopak/Open Roads (required)
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, TR20, EPASWMM (preferred)
- Stormwater modeling and permit preparation expertise
Soft Skills: - Excellent communication and client management abilities
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
