Associate/Full Technical Designer - Juniors Apparel

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Associate / Full Technical Designer to support our Juniors category. In this role, you will work closely with the Technical Design Leader and Design Team to uphold fit and construction standards, ensuring a consistent customer experience. You will be responsible for evaluating garment samples, participating in fittings, and maintaining thorough documentation throughout the product lifecycle. This position is key to delivering high-quality, well-fitting garments that align with brand integrity and customer expectations. 

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly fit sessions and assist in evaluating garment prototypes. 
• Measure samples prior to fittings and take detailed notes during the fit process. 
• Complete and distribute accurate fit reports post-fitting sessions. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate design intent into production-ready garments, balancing aesthetic and technical requirements. 
• Recommend appropriate adjustments to specifications, patterns, and construction methods to enhance garment fit, balance, and overall quality. 
• Maintain fit consistency across the Juniors category by applying standard grade rules aligned with customer or in-house guidelines. 
• Ensure adherence to the Product Lifecycle Calendar, particularly with timely Garment Fit Approvals. 
• Communicate daily with overseas offices and vendor partners to resolve fit and quality concerns and meet production timelines. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field. 
• 3-5 years of experience in technical design or apparel product development preferred. 
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit standards, and grading. 
• Proficient in measurement techniques and interpreting technical specifications. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. 
• Experience with PLM systems and Adobe Illustrator is a plus.

Hybrid Work Schedule

4 days a week in the office, 1 day work from home

New York Pay Rate $50,000 - $65,000
