Short Description
- Schedules patients for operative procedures on the campus for the Main OR, Labor & Delivery Area, Anesthesia, SPU and the Special Test Department utilizing the OR Information System.
- Furnishes the Department of Surgery, OB/GYN, Anesthesia, Patient Care Services and theAncillary departments with data and financial information.
- High volume of customer service contact, acts as a liaison for service recovery when there are issues with OR scheduling customers.
- Expected to turn negative scheduling issues into positive resolutions.
- Works directly with surgeon and residents to resolve scheduling conflicts due to equipment and available block time.
- Audits and enters data from perioperative documents.
- Enters charges for patient billing.
- Calculates patient mark up charges for implants, consignments and non-stocked items utilizing established processes from the Finance Department.
- Investigates customer issues related to facility access, charting questions and patient accounts.
- First responder to software trouble calls for the OR system users on and off campus.
Experience Required
- One to two years experience in clinical environment, preferably in a surgical office setting.
- Basic knowledge of AMA procedural terminology.
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft office including ability to produce financial spreadsheets.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required, some college with business accounting courses preferred.
