Customer Support Engineer, Tier 2 (Media Management)
Skills
- Experience with backup software such as VERITAS, Veeam, or EMC Networker.
- Proficient in JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of backup theory and design.
- Knowledge of Linux Server/Unix OS including troubleshooting logs, crash dumps, event analysis, and network packet analysis.
- Networking troubleshooting including connectivity, name resolution, and performance.
- Knowledge or experience with SAN Storage, NAS, or Software Defined Storage.
- Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical phone support for Commvault software platform and storage appliances.
- Troubleshoot Unix operating system and network-related issues.
- Manage deployment issues and node additions for Scale Out Storage Appliances.
- Handle OS and storage platform upgrades troubleshooting.
- Address backup, restore, and Auxiliary Copy performance issues on Hyperscale Appliance.
- Coordinate with vendor partners for software and hardware troubleshooting.
- Escalate complex issues to Development and advanced personnel as needed.
Education
- Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in IT or related field.
