Overview

The Director of Spiritual Services will provide leadership of the Department of Spiritual Services ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements related to pastoral care, end of life and after care. The Director will work collaboratively to find innovate ways to integrate spiritual services into team based care models to ensure patients and families are able to engage in care at the highest levels. The Director will also ensure staff and leaders receive needed spiritual and emotional support as they care for our patients and may provide spiritual support and consultation with administrative leaders as requested. The Director will oversee and ensure the delivery of day to day operations of the Department including staffing, fiscal accountability, service delivery, data management and quality metrics, LEAN initiatives and strategic planning occur. The Director will also have specific responsibilities to the IRB, Research and Ethics as well as to other scholarly activities.

If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Represents the pastoral care needs of patients, families and staff throughout the health system.
  • Research, Ethics and Scholarly Activities.
  • Talent Management and Workforce Development:
  • Ensures effective management of Department fiscal and Capital budgets, human resources, operations and projects and formulates a business plan for new programs or services.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Preferred, Doctorate of Ministry and 7 or more years experience Prior experience in ministry, pediatrics, education or management would be helpful.
  • One of the following: Association of Professional Chaplains, Association of Clinical Pastoral Educators, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, National Association of Jewish Chaplains required upon hire
  • Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or
  • Ecclesiastical Endorsement Required

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $42.38/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
