Director, Retention Statewide

Position Purpose: Develops and implements the Plan's retention strategies aimed at ensuring enrollment growth; responsible for developing and implementing retention and growth strategies through close collaboration and supervision of the Retention Associates, Marketing Managers and Supervisors for Medicaid, Child Health Plus (CHP); identifies, communicates and holds staff accountable for performance expectations; monitors/appraises the job results/performance and promotes a positive, team-oriented work environment.

  • Provide staff leadership to accomplish specific retention and marketing goals and objectives for Medicaid, CHP; oversee several teams through close collaboration with the Managers and or Supervisors in the designated territory in addition to staff development and training as necessary; review and revise organizational structures as needed to support retention strategies.

  • Develop and implement an integrated retention/marketing strategic plan to support the Plan's growth through analysis of each local market in concert with the Retention/Marketing Managers/Supervisors; develop team specific retention goals.

  • Collaborate with key departments including Enrollment and Provider Relations and Marketing Directors on development strategy creation; consult with senior management in the formation of plans and strategies relating to retention, marketing and outreach functions; keep management informed of retention and marketing activities including the competitive environment.

  • Based Downstate, and with primary responsibility for Downstate results, will take the lead for ALL statewide call campaigns, including outbound calls, e-mails, tracking results, preparing scripts, securing proper databases for such campaigns, over sighting the entire Upstate retention team for these campaigns, prioritizing calls, training statewide staff and implementing best practices across all teams.

  • Represent the Plan at management, government, community and Provider meetings with a focus on retention strategies.

  • Assists in the development and budgetary oversight for the Retention and Marketing budgets.

  • Work with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, and hire employees.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.

  • Provide oversight and direction to employees in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

  • Lead using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.

Education/Experience: BA/BS - Bachelors Degree or equivalent required. MA/MS - in a Health Care related field preferred. 10 years Management experience; effectively lead staff to meet departmental and organizational goals; good management skills, preferably in a marketing field. Experience working in a heavily regulated environment; effectively ensure compliance with all federal and state regulatory guidelines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Access; Outlook; Internet. Effectively facilitate efficient departmental operations. Effectively maintain schedules and calendars. Use office software efficiently to input and retrieve data. Business Analysis Knowledge: Skilled to work in a fast paced environment. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Customer Service: Skilled to communicate with all levels of management, internal and external customers. Ability to work well as a member of a team or alone. Effective Business Communication: Skilled in communicating with technical and business constituencies in writing effective business specifications and requirements.

Pay Range: $116,100.00 - $214,700.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
