General Purpose

As a key member of the executive team, the Vice President of Finance and Accounting will provide strategic leadership and oversight of all financial operations at AVmedia. This individual will be responsible for driving financial excellence across the organization, informing long-term business strategy, and ensuring operational efficiency and scalability in alignment with AVmedia’s Culture, Core Values, Core Purpose, & 3 Unique’s always. The VP will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO, Board, and senior leadership team while fostering a high performing, disciplined, and innovative Finance and Accounting team. 


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

· Leadership & Team Management – Review, manage and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and professional development

       - Recognize and celebrate successes

· Research – Research and apply technical accounting (i.e., revenue, investments, tax), as well as financial and operational concepts

· Operational Efficiency - Oversee administration and evaluate current systems; and identify opportunities to improve financial processes, implement automation, and leverage financial technology to increase efficiency to support significant business growth

· Leadership Collaboration – Partner with resources across the organization to build scalable processes that help provide timely, accurate, and insightful reporting or address company operational needs and support routine and ad hoc work activities

· Financial Strategy & Planning – Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and sustainability. Provide financial insights to leadership team for strategic decision-making

· Systems Integration/Technical Knowledge – Evaluate, research, & recommend software improvements to the CEO. Once approved, responsible for the integration and training for accounting team

· Accounting & Financial Reporting – Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other required financial disclosures in accordance with GAAP or other relevant standards

· Accounting and Tax – Direct day-to-day accounting operations, month-end, and year-end close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management and various journal entries and accruals to ensure all business transactions are recorded timely and accurately and facilitate financial reporting

· Loan Covenants - Stay apprised on and proactively inform of any potential misses that may occur

· Internal Controls & Compliance – Enhance and maintain policies and procedures pertaining to all department and company activities, including internal controls and systems, to ensure strong record-keeping, appropriate authorizations, safeguarding of assets and information, and risk mitigation

· Third Party Relations – Serve as a liaison with auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies

· Payroll Management – Assist Human Resources in payroll (i.e., PTO, overtime, payroll deductions, incentives) preparation; experience with Paylocity or other payroll systems

· Budgeting & Forecasting – Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and long-term financial planning, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals

       - Manage the annual and ongoing operating and equipment capex budgeting processes 

Requirements

· Degree in Accounting or Finance, Business Preferred, CPA a plus

· MBA preferred

· Minimum five (5) years of experience in executive leadership roles

         - Accounting and / or finance

         - Hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or entertainment industries a plus 

· Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills

· Team oriented, flexible and positive leadership


Reporting Structure

This position will report to the President/CEO with a dotted line to our majority shareholder at times
