Position Summary:
The staff accountant will be responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany
reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and supporting the accounting manager with daily and monthly
accounting responsibilities including posting of recurring journal entries and account reconciliations. The
role will include any ad-hoc projects, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accounts payable including maintenance of vendor master files, entering and coding vendor invoices, researching and resolving vendor inquiries and execution of annual 1099reporting requirements
- Maintain accounts receivable including customer master files, application of customer paymentsand coding of customer deductions
- Preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Work alongside the accounting manager to manage vendor aging and customer aging
- Assist with month-end close, including being able to work extended hours as needed
- Maintain accounts receivable aging and communicate aging issues with customers
- Reconcile select monthly balance sheet accounts (AR/AP/Cash)
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
- Complete ad-hoc and special projects to support the accounting department
- 2-3+ years finance and accounting experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with one or more relevant accounting systems – Quickbooks, Xero, NetSuite preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
- Accounting or Finance degree is preferred
