How you make a difference

The Mental Health Quality Improvement Specialist plays a critical role in supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives for the mental health department by conducting thorough chart reviews. This position involves identifying areas for process enhancement, engaging in problem-solving efforts, and ensuring compliance with established standards. The Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement improvements that drive the effectiveness of mental health services. Additionally, they manage special projects focused on enhancing service delivery within Wellpath’s client contracts. Through these efforts, the Specialist contributes to the overall goal of maintaining high-quality mental health care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct chart reviews and quality audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, identify deficiencies, and contribute to improvement plans.
  • Oversee and manage projects aimed at improving patient care, safety, efficiency, and customer service by collaborating with clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • Engage with business, program, and clinical teams to analyze data, assess business impact, and drive process improvements using performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Build strong client relationships to enhance collaboration, ensure understanding of data, and support ongoing quality initiatives.
  • Design and maintain systems for data management, analysis, and reporting, while facilitating fact-based findings and delivering process improvement training to stakeholders.

Additional Details

Associate's Degree in Mental Health required

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • 2+ years of Mental Health experience required.
  • Corrections / institutional Mental Health experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in process improvement or quality management not required.
