How You'll Contribute
Audit & Reconciliation
Perform routine audits and data reconciliation across HRIS, payroll, and vendor platforms to ensure the accuracy of benefits records and transactions. Identify and resolve discrepancies and work with internal teams to improve data integration quality.
Vendor Invoice Support
Review and validate benefits vendor invoices using internal audit outputs and enrollment data. Support timely and accurate invoice approval processes in collaboration with finance and procurement teams.
Process Documentation & Operational Controls
Develop and maintain current documentation for key compensation, benefits, and global mobility processes and procedures. Track compliance and audit requirements by maintaining detailed records and supporting internal control standards.
Data Analysis & Process Improvement
Monitor key operational metrics and trends related to total rewards data or processing delays. Evaluate manual tasks for automation potential and propose workflow improvements that drive efficiency.
Benefits Communications & Event Support
Contribute to drafting, formatting, and distributing employee-facing communications. Support the execution of benefits-related events such as open enrollment, wellness webinars, and Q&A sessions.
The Skills and Experience You Bring
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or a related field—or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5-7 years of experience supporting benefits operations, data reconciliation, or systems-based processes.
Proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, audits).
Experience with HRIS systems and reporting tools.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
Familiarity with process automation or workflow optimization tools.
Experience with process analysis and documentation.
Understanding of employee benefits compliance (ACA, COBRA, ERISA).
The Washington Post’s policy for employees is five days per week in the office, with exceptions for newsgathering and general business travel.

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.
The salary range for this position is:
85,100.00 - 127,700.00 USD AnnualThe actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
