Responsibilities
- Design, coordinate, and submit fire protection drawings, hydraulic calculations, and seismic brace calculations.
- Stock list projects for fabrication and approve fabrication quotes.
- Integrate other mechanical systems ensuring coordination with fire suppression systems.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, insurance, fire and building codes.
- Communicate with Design Manager and Field Superintendent regarding design, installation, and testing.
- Produce shop lists for fabrication of system piping with computer software.
- Assist Design Manager and train less experienced designers as needed.
- Manage layout, field checking, material submittals, hydraulic calculations, and installation requirements.
- Maintain safety and risk management procedures on job sites.
Education
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in drafting (AutoCAD) preferred but not required.
