As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in Visa’s products, services, internal operations, and client solutions, the Global Data Office (GDO) is expanding its AI Policy and Governance function to ensure responsible, compliant, and effective use of AI technologies. The Senior Manager, AI Policy and Governance, will play a pivotal role in developing AI standards, operationalizing Visa’s AI Principles and ensuring alignment with evolving global regulatory standards and internal risk frameworks.
This role is ideal for a strategic and execution-oriented leader with expertise in AI technologies and practical experience in AI governance, policy development, model risk management, or data ethics. The successful candidate will drive cross-functional collaboration to shape enterprise-wide AI standards and playbooks and lead the implementation of scalable governance practices across the AI lifecycle in close partnership with GDO, Legal, Risk, Privacy, Technology and Business teams.

Basic Qualifications
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
(-) Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Public Policy, Law, or a related discipline is required.
(-) Specialized training or certification in AI governance, responsible AI, or model risk management is a plus.
(-) A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in AI governance or technology build, model risk, or data ethics within a regulated industry.
(-) Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies, particularly generative AI and LLMs.
(-) Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects.
(-) Familiarity with global AI regulatory trends (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF) and ethical AI frameworks.
(-) Excellent communication and analytical skills.
(-) Advanced oral and written English language proficiency.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 159,100.00 to 230,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
