Supervisory Recreation Specialist NF-03 - job 1 of 2


Duties

  • Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis.
  • Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance.
  • Must be able to support the activity by applying a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation materials and facilities.
  • Works in executing recreation events, programs and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage.
  • Recommends items of supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215-3.
  • A one-year Supervisory probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
  • Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will possess the following:
  • knowledge of a wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities, AND
  • a basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding of supplies and equipment, AND
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English), AND
  • work experience or education directly related to the duties of a Supervisory Recreation Specialist NF-0188-03.
  • HIGHLY PREFERRED are those candidates that possess both the minimum qualifications above and:
  • Two (2) years' experience working in an Automotive Shop or repairing vehicles.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Your resume & application package must reflect the qualifications stated in the announcement and questionnaire to be rated eligible.You must also include the Highly Preferred criteria in your resume, if applicable.
  • Applicants that meet the Minimum Qualifications & Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others may be referred if management does not select from the Highly Preferred list

Education

  • If using education to support the minimum qualification of "education directly relating to the duties of a Supervisory Recreation Specialist" then transcripts showing courses completed MUST be provided at the time of application.
