Summary of Job Duties:

The Registered Nurse (RN) promotes wellness, improves outcomes, and self-care within a defined population of patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab.  The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients. As a professional nurse, the nursing process is utilized in the provision of care. The RN practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures, and standards.



PRN Nurse will float between the One Day Surgery and the Main Operating Room.  

PRN Nurses will report to an assigned Clinical Services Manager 

PRN Applicant’s Work history will be screened to match the position for which they have applied.

PRN Maximum allowable hours in a floating year is 1000.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associate's Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
• Valid RN License
• Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing Critical Care experience
• Must obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Strong work ethic and accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years nof ursing experience with current BLS
• 1 year of IR, ICU, ED, PACU
• 2 or more RN Critical Care experience
• Current ACLS

Additional Information:

Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning, and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Responsibilities:

• Collects and documents assessment data from patients and/or others per UAMS standard. 

• Develops patient's Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data. 

• Evaluates the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes.

• Administers medication following department/unit standards and the Nurse Practice Act. 

• Verifies and evaluates care delivered to ensure it is consistent with patient and family-centered care principles, practice standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Supports the integration of current evidence into nursing practices. 

• Promotes an environment conducive to a positive educational experience for all students and staff. 

• Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.

• Effectively collaborates and communicates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders. 

• Communicates care appropriately through documentation in the medical record.

• Reports variances in care/ systems/ processes through the appropriate means.

• Participates in the recruitment/retention of staff. 

• Facilitates the development and implementation of nursing practice standards that are evidence-based and in compliance with ANA standards.

• May perform other duties as assigned.
