Summary of Job Duties:

The Assistant Director of Greek Life ensures that the direction of the Greek community is consistent with the mission of the university, while contributing to the overall quality of campus life. This position is responsible for the advancement of the UA Greek community including four Greek governing bodies (IFC, NPHC, UGC and PC) and 36 national Greek-lettered organizations. This position is responsible for communicating and developing a working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders, coordinating community service for the Greek community, developing and implementing educational and social programming for both individuals and chapters, and responding to emergencies as needed. Managing student learning efforts including outcomes and assessment. Advising Greek registered student organizations which address various programming needs and efforts such as leadership development, career readiness, and community engagement with all Greek chapters.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a related field (i.e. Higher Education, Student Affairs, or Business) from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years experience working in or with Greek organizations beyond their undergraduate career

  • Experience in regard to formal recruitment for Panhellenic and IFC organizations, new membership intake for NPHC and UGC, and other fraternity and sorority life programming efforts including, but not limited to, Greek Life social policy, risk management, leadership, and career development

Applicable equivalencies may be considered for the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field (i.e. Higher Education, Student Affairs, or Business) from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years full-time professional experience working as a fraternity or sorority international headquarters/office staff member OR as a university Greek Life staff member​

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Current knowledge of trends, practices and planning/programming related to fraternity and sorority life in the areas of chapter & leadership development, new member programming, community service, health & wellness, etc.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Problem solving and project management skills

  • Ability to work well with students and colleagues

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to fulfill position responsibilities


Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.


Salary Information:

$56,123 (Commensurate with education and experience)
