Job Description


Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced MEP Cost Manager to provide cost management support on a large-scale technical construction program for a key technology client. This role is part of a major capital expansion of high-tech manufacturing facilities and offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value projects in a dynamic, client-facing environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical and plumbing systems, with experience supporting cost management across all phases of MEP design and construction.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide cost estimating and cost planning services, including conceptual, programming, and detailed estimates.
  • Develop and manage MEP-specific cost plans and budgets.
  • Analyze and validate MEP contractor and subcontractor pricing and change order proposals.
  • Support procurement activities including bid analysis and contract documentation for MEP scopes.
  • Participate in value engineering exercises with a focus on MEP systems.
  • Produce monthly cost reports and assist in presenting updates to the client.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure MEP cost alignment with project goals.
  • Maintain communication with clients, contractors, and consultants throughout all project stages.
  • Support post-contract cost management including change control, cost checks, and valuations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve MEP cost management tools, templates, and procedures.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant experience in cost management, with a strong focus on MEP systems.
  • Experience supporting medium to large-scale construction projects, ideally in high-tech or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • RICS accreditation or working toward it is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of MEP procurement, value engineering, and cost control processes.
  • Familiarity with MEP systems including HVAC and/or electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a client facing position.
