Working under the direction of the Senior Designer, this role contributes to the execution of brand-right and market-relevant assortments for key retail accounts.

Responsibilities

Design/Product:

  • Design styles for boys’ apparel in partnership with the Senior Designer.
  • Create detailed flat sketches, technical packages, and colorways across categories.
  • Assist in identifying emerging trends, seasonal themes, and new product concepts that align with brand and retail partner direction.
  • Own and manage assigned product categories from concept to execution with Senior Designer oversight.
  • Translate competitive and market research into actionable design ideas.
  • Maintain accuracy across all tech packs, trims, and artworks.
  • Participate in fit sessions, manage sample corrections, and assist in approvals and revisions.
  • Create and distribute seasonal color cards to vendors and showrooms.
  • Organize and manage store samples, fabric swatches, and team folders.

Cross-Functional Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Sales to ensure product aligns with style plans and client needs.
  • Partner with overseas vendors to manage timely product development and sampling.
  • Work closely with the Technical Design team to ensure proper construction and fit.
  • Participate in market research and competitive shopping to inform seasonal strategy.

Requirements

  • Degree in Fashion or Apparel Design.
  • 3–5 years of experience in children’s wear; boys’ apparel experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and trims.
  • Excellent eye for style and market-relevant trends in the boys’ segment.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve.
  • Effective verbal and written communicator.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
