Tabs is a fast-paced, mission-driven startup headquartered in New York City with a dynamic and high-performing team passionate about reshaping the financial operations stack.
We’re seeking a resourceful and detail-oriented Agent Operations Associate to play a critical role in overseeing the performance and reliability of Tabs’ AI agents. This team member will analyze and correct agent behavior, partner with engineering to build and refine workflows, and provide direct feedback to improve the end-user experience.
You’ll serve as both a power user of internal tools and a key business stakeholder, ensuring that our agent products execute tasks accurately and deliver high-value, merchant-facing outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to shape the development of AI-powered automation at scale, combining technical understanding, accounting knowledge, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Identify merchant needs unmet by current agent capabilities.
Partner with engineering to propose and help implement new agent tasks (e.g., line item cash application reports).
Act as a business stakeholder in evaluating and improving the overall merchant-agent experience.
Provide structured feedback on agent clarity, helpfulness, and interaction quality across communications.
Use LangSmith or other internal tools to annotate, tag, and deconstruct agent interactions for better model training and response quality.
Help develop reusable components for faster product iteration.
Interpret and troubleshoot outputs based on basic accounting concepts: AR aging, reconciliation, forecasting, accruals.
Understand and apply scripting conventions used in LangGraph to validate agent responses and detect logic errors.
Coordinate regularly with engineering teams to track ongoing initiatives.
Drive alignment and progress across cross-functional priorities, including offshore analyst teams.
3–7 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Consulting, Operations, or similar roles in financial services or startups.
Ability to understand as well as apply basic and intermediate accounting principles (like charts of accounts, reconciliation, AR aging, cash forecasting, revenue recognition).
Basic to intermediate understanding of Python, or other technical script languages, to interpret technical command execution.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to process accuracy.
Exposure to scripting or automation tools (LangGraph, LangChain, etc.) a plus.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Plus: Minor in Computer Science or Data Science
Competitive salary and equity package.
100% healthcare coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision).
Daily lunch, dinner and coffee stipend
Pre-tax commuter benefits.
Collaborative, high-growth environment with a top-tier founding team with a track record of multiple exits from early stage to IPO.
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI products reshaping how companies manage receivables.
Note: We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet 100% of the requirements. Tabs values diversity of thought and experience.
