The team focuses on optimizing the risk/reward relationship by recommending strategies for sustaining and growing NII while being mindful of regulatory constraints. The Managing Director and Head of Interest Rate Risk (IRR) would lead State Street’s identification, measurement, monitoring and management of corporate interest rate risk, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position will oversee the reporting and analytics for the firm’s NII sensitivity, economic value of equity (EVE) and mark to market (MTM) frameworks relative to internally-approved limits and guidelines. It will also be responsible for the firm’s balance sheet and NII stress testing that is performed on an ongoing basis. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of balance sheet modeling, asset liability management and the regulatory environment.

  • Prepare and present clear, concise and influential presentations to senior management and regulatory bodies
  • Oversee and enhance rate risk models, behavioral assumptions and scenario analysis frameworks
  • Drive internal, stress-testing routines and regulatory-driven CCAR exercises for balance sheet and NII
  • Manage, mentor and provide ongoing feedback to a team of analysts
  • Partner with other team members across ALM, Global Treasury, Finance and oversight partners
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive policies, procedures and documentation for IRR management
  • Perform timely and accurate ad-hoc analytics
  • Support quarter-end earnings preparation process and related regulatory filings

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective collaboration with peers and business partners with an ability to influence across functions and levels
  • Proven ability to solve problems and improve existing processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to simplify complex material and tailor it to the audience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent
  • Strong quantitative aptitude/skills
  • Detail orientation
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or quantitative discipline
