Skills
- Proficient with electrical test equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers.
- Expertise in PCBA failure analysis and root cause troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with electrical schematic and PCB design tools such as Altium or Orcad.
- Understanding of circuit elements including filters, power supplies, microcontrollers.
- Experience with RF test equipment and concepts such as impedance matching and antenna design.
- Knowledge of process control environments and IPC standards like IPC-A-610G.
- Ability to apply Lean manufacturing principles and process automation.
- Strong ability to work hands-on in hardware support, test, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Partner with electrical design and avionics manufacturing teams to improve product reliability through design best practices and process control.
- Support new product development by prototyping early hardware to identify design limitations.
- Identify and reduce risks and complexity to improve manufacturability and resolve non-conformances.
- Conduct PCBA test failure investigations using schematics, test equipment, and root cause analysis.
- Lead initiatives for risk reduction and manufacturability improvements in collaboration with integrated product teams.
- Monitor product yield rates and drive corrective actions for products not meeting specifications.
- Contain and guide handling of suspect or non-conforming products, aiding quality and production teams.
- Promote continuous improvement and lean autonomous production via standard guides and process optimization.
- Serve as a technical expert in avionics processes to distinguish value-added activities.
- Determine minimum viable acceptance testing sequences for high reliability of flight hardware.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers on best practices and technical challenges.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline required.
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred.
