Fire Protection Specialist (Starlink)
Skills
- Knowledge of fire protection design and construction
- Familiarity with building and fire codes, especially NFPA standards
- Experience with fire hazard and risk assessment
- Ability to produce and review technical documentation
- Proficiency with fire and smoke modeling software and Autodesk Revit
- Understanding of OSHA compliance
Responsibilities
- Support engineering design, analysis, calculations, and specifications for fire and life safety systems
- Develop building and fire code compliance documentation for SpaceX facilities
- Create performance-based design criteria through AM&M with local AHJ
- Perform hazardous material analysis and support system design for code compliance
- Support facility construction and commissioning activities including AHJ testing
- Conduct fire/life safety code reviews and prepare technical reports
- Review and comment on contractor shop drawings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Degree in fire protection engineering preferred
